To celebrate the holiday season, N°5 is decorated with a soft dusting of snow: a delicate veil of silk applied by hand, giving the bottle a sculptural effect. An exceptional gift that inspires a sense of wonder. This limited-edition gesture is housed in a box embellished with an image of the iconic scent, crafted by a Maître d’Art using the time-honored technique of embossing.
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel asked Ernest Beaux to develop a “woman’s perfume, with a woman’s scent.” The perfumer presented her with a visionary expression that made unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle chose the fifth sample and decided to name it simply N°5. For this new composition, she selected a flacon with a revolutionary design, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cabochon. In 1986, Jacques Polge reinterpreted his predecessor’s work to imagine a fuller version of the now and forever fragrance: the Eau de Parfum.
